The Alice Hawthorn

Welcome to The Alice Hawthorn, a traditional village inn which underwent complete refurbishment and reopened, totally transformed, in August 2009.

The pub stands in a village that is quintessentially English. As you drive into Nun Monkton, the first thing you will notice is the village green, and more particularly, the Highland cattle that are grazing on it! Drive further in and you will see the duck pond, full of ducks and geese and surrounded by graceful willow trees; over to your right, you will surely spot one of the tallest Maypoles in the country, and finally you will find yourself at the world famous Alice Hawthorn Inn! Mentioned in the Doomsday Book, this village has managed to retain an aura of tranquillity that not many villages have in 2009. At night time the village is in complete darkness, because we don’t even have street lights! You could be in the midst of an Agatha Christie storyline when you visit this village, so traditional is its feel…..
