Saturday 8th May 2010 As discussed at our usual monthly meeting. - I have published on the England XII forum, and our new 'Facebook' site the details of our rideout on Saturday 8th May 2010. Starting at Helmsley Market Place at 10.15am for a 10.30am start - Approx 130 mile loop (no, not to Scarborough)! and returning to Helmsley and up to The Lord Stones cafe for those who want a bit of a social afterwards.

Have mentioned this before but I have had a quick look at a 3 or 4 night break in Northern Spain and have found what appears to be a good deal for ferry / hotel / B&B in April / May for £250. | |
Don’t all send me flying in the rush! Jude has done some work on this trip and May 16th for 5 nights looks good. 2 nights on board and 3 in a hotel in Northern Spain
Myself and Rick have now booked for this with Brittany Ferries. Booking can be done via the web site and by looking at the offers page for Parador Hotels. The hotel is the Cervera de Pisuerga and we have booked for 3 nights from 17/5 to 20/5 leaving Plymouth on 16/5 and Santander coming back on the 20th.
Their holiday offers web site does not cater for 2 motorcycles going but the cost for 2 people and a motorcycle is £510 including your cabin both ways. Bizarrely to get the cheap offer you have to choose a 4 berth for 2 people. If you do as I did and pick a 2 berth cabin it costs you £135 more! Brittany ferries just say that is part of the offer and who am I to argue.
The problem comes if you take two bikes which they view as another vehicle even though we take up less room
You have to ring them direct to arrange that and for that they will charge £106.25 for an extra bike.
So - £510 for rider / pillion (£255 each) or £616.25 (£308) if you take 2 bikes.
